Egypt national team camp starts May 30th in preparation for the matches of Guinea and Ethiopia

Egypt’s national team camp, led by Ihab Galal, will start on May 30, in preparation for the Pharaohs’ matches against Guinea and Ethiopia on June 5 and 9, in the first and second rounds of the 2023 African Nations qualifiers to be held in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Confederation of African Football “C” responded to the request of the Egyptian Federation to amend the date of the matches of the Egyptian national team against Guinea and Ethiopia in the first and second rounds of Group D in the qualifiers for the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

At the request of the Egyptian Federation, CAF decided to amend the dates of the matches of the first and second rounds of the fourth group in the African qualifiers, and it was decided to hold the two matches of the Egyptian national team against Guinea and Ethiopia on June 5 and 9 instead of 2 and 6 of the same month as was scheduled.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) refused to hold the Egypt-Ethiopia match on any stadium in Ethiopia, after the Football Association addressed CAF and refused to hold the match there.

Football Association officials stated that they addressed CAF to confirm that Ethiopia’s stadiums are not internationally accredited, and CAF sent a committee to inspect and verify the matter before refusing to hold the match in Ethiopia officially.

The Egyptian Football Association had sent an official letter to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), confirming its request, in the numerous letters previously sent to the African Union, to hold the final match of the African Champions League on a neutral stadium, after CAF announced its holding on May 30 at Mohammed V Stadium in Morocco. .

In his speech, the Egyptian Football Association stressed its total rejection of holding the final match of the African Champions League for the current version in Morocco, especially that this decision harms the principle of equal opportunities, after the Al-Ahly and Moroccan Wydad teams approached qualifying for the final match, which the Egyptian Football Association called for the necessity of Commit to it in two previous letters.
