Daniel Gordo, coach of the first men’s handball team in Al-Ahly, gave the team a negative rest for 24 hours, today, Sunday, after qualifying for the semi-finals of the African Cup Winners’ Cup that will be held in Niger.
Gordo decided to rest the players from training today to give them a chance to breathe and recover in light of the cohesion of matches in the African Championship and after winning the African Super Cup.
Daniel Gordo, coach of the first men’s handball team at Al-Ahly Club, is holding a session with the assistant staff to draw up the preparation program for the African Cup of Cup semi-final match, which will be held in Niger.
Gordo is discussing with the assistant staff many technical and tactical aspects related to the two matches, to settle the second African title after winning the African Super title at the expense of Zamalek.
Al-Ahly’s men qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Niger champion Niamey 44-18 in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Don Bosco, the Ivorian team, scored 36-17 in the second round, and concluded the first round by defeating the Cameroonian Fab team, 38-20, to achieve the full mark.
